Grapevine Cabinets is now using pigmented lacquer for painted finishes
Grapevine Cabinets is now using pigmented lacquer for painted finishes! What is that, you say? Well, think of it as similar to paint, but add the characteristics of thin viscosity and hardness. These are important when it comes to refinishing cabinets because you want a fine, hard finish that can stand up to the impact of every day use.
Pigmented lacquer can be tinted to a wide variety of colors too, so the possibilities are many. When refinishing to solid color tones, the choice is usually white, but we have used other colors such as black, gray, and many off-white tones.
The pigmented lacquer product we use is top-coat rated, which means there is no need for an overcoat to protect it. We still apply a satin top-coat to all our painted finishes so that the finish has increased durability, clean-ability, and a luxurious appearance. This way, the finish has a protective shell that will extend it’s life and look good the whole way.
